The Howdy Party will be held in the Pavilion at the campsite Monday Evening. This is the official meet & greet for convention attendees and a wonderful opportunity to find and catch up with all the friends you’ve met through previous convention attendance and caving. Instead of a sit-down catered affair that limits socializing, your Chairman, Rich Geisler, asked his organizers to provide attendees with a delightful sampling of West Virginia inspired offerings. THERE WILL NOT BE A FULL DINNER PROVIDED Don’t come for a meal but plan on a gustatory sampling!
Delicious WV inspired hors D’ oeuvres will be thoughtfully provided by Dukes Steak House. You’ll have the chance to sample selections such as Hot Pepper Jelly, Ramp Dip with French bread, Spicy Bear Balls, Venison Balls, Cranberry brown beans with Jalapeno pepper and onions, Homemade Pepperoni Rolls, Fresh veggies with Dukes Rampy Dip, Sandy’s WV Fry Grape Jelly Bread. Keeping with the WV theme, Fresh Iced Tea (both sweet and unsweet) and Lemonade will be offered as well as soda and water.
Big Timber Brewery, a local WV craft brewery will be providing an assortment of specially selected beers for all palates. From blondes to stouts, Big Timber has it all!
To entertain while you socialize, catch up and say howdy to new acquaintances, nothing says WV like a Bluegrass band and we’ll delight you with one of the best around! Johnny Staats and Friends will be delighting you with mountain classics in the early evening. Johnny has played at OTR several times and is a favorite! He’s a homegrown WV boy that’s played all over the US and we’re fortunate to present him. Find out more at https://www.johnnystaats.com/
